Cliffs: Looking for recommendations on reasonable 4 man tent that's sorta lightweight (but not backpacking weight) with more than two poles and full rainfly.

So my son has a piece of garbage 4 man tent on his Amazon wish list for Christmas, probably trying to upgrade size from his current 2 man due to camping with fiance but there's no way I'm gonna let anybody buy him that. Weight is not important due to car camping but they got a little Jeep Cherokee so space is probably a bit of an issue. He doesn't realize it because I've always provided tents and gear for the entire family, but he needs a tent with more than the typical two cross pole construction and needs a tent with a fly that goes to the ground for protection and creating vestibule on both sides. I don't mind spending a little because it's for Christmas but it's not something that's going to get used a lot so don't wanna go all out either. He's got a $65 Coleman on his list for comparison so that's not hard to beat.

I’m not sure if they have a four man, but my also mountaineering extreme in 3 man has three poles.

I’ve never opened this one because I went with tipis after I purchased it. I got tired of bending down to get in and out of a tent. Lol

Here is what I have. I’d let it go for $150 and that would include shipping. Or $120 and you pay for shipping. I am in Alaska.

How much floor space do you call "4man"?
Budget?
Honestly good space for him and fiance is probably all that's needed. That little "4 man" Coleman he's got on his wish list is puny, so a legit 3 man is probably plenty good enough. Budget depends on quality, I don't mind going cheap for a good deal and don't mind spending more if it's something of good quality and also a good deal or on sale, just don't want to go high end or top dollar on this one. I'd say $50-$200.

Thank you. If it was for myself I'd consider it but since it's a Christmas gift I figure I should buy something brand new.

This is brand new. It’s never been pitched. I ordered it and it arrived and went in a tote.
But no worries.

Look into the Kelty gunnison 2.0 tent. I am not a small man, but my wife and I and two dogs were able to fit inside quite comfortably. I was almost 300lbs back then and 5’9”. Dogs were a 70lb lab and 10lb weiner dog.
