3rd or 4th season is the question….

Numbers don’t lie. There are lots of units where it takes double, triple or more points to draw a 4th season license compared to a 3rd season tag. There’s a reason. Also there is usually way less pressure. I know units with 100 tags issued in the 2nd and 3rd seasons but only 10 in the 4th. Nothing is better than big bucks forgetting about survival mode to chase does around all day.

Getting everything packed up for the hunt! Looks like some colder temps with some snow is coming in late this week! Really enjoy reading the 3rd rifle thread every am, getting excited!

Spend the time to scout/find a buck and kill him on in the first couple of days…

A lot of the biggest bucks are getting killed early by guys taking the time to scout out a big buck in 2nd….

3rd and in 4th = unless big buck numbers are high where you will be hunting (they are not high anywhere in co well except for one unit) you will be looking over a constant stream of “basket 4’s” hoping for a big un to show. Most times they never do as not many/any exist anymore…..

Guys who put in the effort to scout and hunt 2nd are about the only ones killing great bucks on the regular w a rifle. It also takes half or less points to draw the 2nd tags and hunting on the regular is way more important than having all your eggs in one basket……
