3D Mouse Tips and Tricks

Just picked up a 3D mouse to fly around Google Earth and am very impressed with how intuitive it is. Makes it a little more fun / video game like as well.

Anyone have any tips and tricks to get the most out of it? I haven't set up the side buttons yet and am curious if anyone has found good uses for those as well.

I have one at home for CAD stuff, but I haven't tried it on Google Earth or any other 3D mapping software. Sounds like a good idea.
