I have decided to undertake this wild cat. It seems like an extremely functional/efficient wild cat that will require little in the way of brass forming. I have yet to buy any components, but I will start scooping them up soon. I am a big fan of the Mausingfield action, but I am looking pretty hard at the new Defiance CRF action. I will most probably be using a Proof Carbon barrel, but in a 24" barrel they only offer 1:12" twist. I have used Manson reamers in the past.

Any recommendations for dies? Should I purchase a die reamer at the same time to have the FL sizing die made? Any other reloading recommendations?

So I have a few buddies running a 375 wsm, its a great brush round for us here in western Oregon. And out to about 400 yards it hits like a freaking freight train!!! Redding already makes a 1-off die set for a 375/300 wsm. You could check with them on the dies. Once you have them run a few pieces of brass through to send off to who ever is chambering your barrel. It'll make the jump from 300 to 375 in 1 shot fairly easily

I really appreciate the die info. I was planning on necking up 325wsm. Honestly, I have no idea if there would be any difference in the two. The shoulder angle should be the same. Necking up the 300 vs. the 325 may have a shorter neck after resizing, but it may not be much of a difference.

So why the up sizing? Is it just something different or is there a big advantage to a 35 or 375? I’ve got a 325 wsm and pretty impressed with the way it shoots. I know the 8mm bullets are not the greatest, but mine shoots the 200 grain partitions pretty darn well.0DDABDFE-FEB9-4F31-B673-77A2A0B4970A.jpeg

As a first venture into wild catting. I wanted to start with something pretty simple like simply necking a cartridge up before I try more complicated designs. The 325 is a great round. I thought, especially at my hunting distances, the 375 would be a real hammer. All of my rifles are long actions and this will also give me a little experience with a short action rifle.
