358 Winchester custom rifle build

I now have an AR 10 Roam upper and two barrels to choose. A Faxon 308 Carbine pencil barrel and a W/C 358 Winchester barrel. I think it will end up a 358 Winchester and have a lightweight TA lower. It will be a gas gun because I don't want to fight a bolt in a tapered case. Be Well Brothers, BG.

I think so. I have killed whitetails with a single shot. Almost always a DRT, no tracking. The stainless might be a little rough at first but running the bolt on an empty gun many times will smooth it out. As to trigger you might have to get it adjusted. Only you will know that. It should be a good gun. Some of my favorite guns are the older tang safety Rugers. Be Well Brother, BG.

I am in agreement that find a short action winchester or ruger left hander and do a rebore or rebarrel. It will be plenty accurate for 300yds and in. I am not really up on the LH rifles but I am not sure if Ruger made SS short atcion left handers, might need to get a blued one.

My on the ground rifle for the northeast is a M77 MK II, 20" #2 Douglas in 358win. , MPI ultralight stock in the Kimber pattern and a straight 4 power. Its light enough to keep in hand all day and suprisingly accurate

Well,
I’d like to build this gun out so I can travel with it.
My theory is why I have 10 guns when you could have one or two that do the job anywhere in the country.

I never heard of blazer that’s why I’m posting on here because I am new to building rifles.

I picked the 358 Winchester because it’s the underdog of the 35 caliber. It’s also making a comeback and I’m gonna get into hand loading.
Based upon my research, there’s room under the hood for that round.

I don’t think my state has restrictions on semi or minimal calipers.

Thank you for your response.

1) Build what you want.

2). Zermatt Actions have CRF. Both of mine feed great and extract great. My only regret is that both are long actions.
