I have a 36m and am planning on getting a 350L . Does everyone pretty much use the 1/2x28 9mm brake to attach it?

I’m used to 5/8x24 on rifles
Depends on which rifle you’re going to put it on. There are some 350L’s that come threaded 5/8x24 from the factory. If you buy one that’s not threaded, it’ll depend on what the OD of your barrel is. If it’s < .675, most smiths don’t advise threading it 5/8x24 because there’s not enough meat there. So then your options are to either thread it to 1/2x28 and use some sort of muzzle device or adapter, or there are some smiths that will add a shoulder and then thread it to 5/8x24. I opted for the latter because I didn’t want to mess with adapters so I had the shoulder added, very pleased with how it turned out.

Have you looked at the TBAC Magnus S, Hub in 375 caliber with a direct thread adapter? The Magnus S is similar to the discontinued Dominus. The Dominus is a great hunting suppressor, lightweight and good sound suppression. I am gonna buy a Magnus S for my 350 L.
The Rugged Obsidian 45 I am using on my 350L is ok but IMO the sound suppression is not great.
Did you ever go this route?

I was messaging with the owner of TBAC about the fly 9 and he similarly recommended the Magnus in 375 for 350L…

He said if they had time they’d publish results for it as part of SSS2024 but I don’t believe that ever happened.

Quick update to this thread, I ended up deciding to go with the OCL Hydrogen S 8.6. It just landed with my FFL, hopefully I'll be able to get it out of jail soon.

I was just looking at that one too, along with the AB Raptor.
Yep, those were the two I had narrowed it down to also. But I wasn't able to find the AB Raptor available anywhere in the 8" .375 version, so ended up deciding to just go with the OCL instead.

Too bad you couldn’t find a raptor. I have two 10 stacks in 375. Work great from 360 legend pistol to 35 whelen rifle. Had one on a 6.5 Creedmoor and it worked well.

If ocl was a standard run item, I think it would be a good choice as well. I want one in 6.5.

Im considering the raptor 10 instead for that reason..

What other items do you have that you'd compare it to, as far as sound suppression?

You will probably have yours before I get mine. At 134 days now. Had another hydrogen I bought a couple months after the 8.6 approved and picked up already.

I have not done any head to head swaps, but I have a scythe Ti, banish 46, and jk for comparison. Of those the only one that really isn’t quiet is the jk. The raptor with subsonic 360 buckhammer is super quiet. I use that on a 14” pistol. Animals don’t really move when you shoot. There might be something quieter, but the raptor is a good solid choice and it’s 11 ish oz. Have used it for two deer this week.

I’m less concerned about disrupting animals than I am about hearing safety.

My cgs hyperion will suppress 6.5 down to quieter than 22 sounds..

I like not wearing hearing protection if I can avoid it. One less thing to worry about bringing and keeping batteries for.

I don have a meter, so I don’t know exact numbers, but I suspect that the 10 stack raptor is under 140db for a bolt gun. In 308 it did quite well at the silencer summit. Easily top 1/3. I have bad enough tinnitus that I still wear electronic plugs with a can. I have had people comment how quiet the AB cans are.
