.35 wehlan for hunting

Not really slow. Depending on the powder I am using I push a 225AB 2,750 to 2,900. Solid round out to 500 yards where I have a 3 MIL drop with a slower powder.

Thanks! No, not a profit. It's a Bevan King barrel that I had on a Ruger MKII and I had it installed on the Tikka by Corlane here in BC.

Does anyone still hunt with a .35 Whelan for whitetail anymore. ?

Not a whelan, but a fan. For me 358 win in a lever

Ruger (Lipsey's Exclusive) released a very nice Alaskan Bush Rifle in 35 Whelen and 9.3x62. I put myself on the waitlist for one at my LGS. Then I remembered I don't hunt moose or grizzly (yet).
35 Whelen is used here in LA by some for primitive hunting season, bore restriction of .35 or larger.

That’s what actually started my 35 Whelen build, I became to impatient waiting for a Ruger lol

Quite popular here in the south for deer "alternative weapon" season, smacking the snot out of hogs, and as a follow up rifle for tracking black bears after they get shot at bait sites.
I have one on my short list of project rifles if I can find the right donor rifle to start with.
