Anyone try N565 for their 338 RUM? I also have RL26 / RL23 (which I can find load data for) but I would prefer to use N565 at this point.

At this point I plan on using it for the 213 HH, 260 HH, and 300 Atips.

Does anyone see any major issues with starting at the 338 Lapua starting loads and working up to pressure?

I wouldn't start at Lapua loads. In a 338 edge maybe, but not standard RUM. A pretty "standard" Edge load is 92.0 of H1000 with a 300 gr. SMK/Berger for reference.

Point taken, some powders have similar charge weights between the two (N560) while others don't (like H1000).

What I have found is a QL reference that shows similar charge weights between the two cartridges for N565 for 250 gr bullet class. Just wondering via extrapolation if since N560 has similar charge weights across bullet weights and N565 has similar charge weight for 1 bullet weight, if It would mostly likely be safe to start on the low end.

I plan on reaching out to nosler about it to see if they have any more info.

Did you look at VV's website? I saw they don't have your specific bullets but similar weights with N565 in the tables.

QL stats, verify the right values (case capacity, bullet length, etc.) and use at your own discretion.

Well I have started off my ladder tests.

213 HH hit 3195 FPS with 90 gr of IMR 4955 w/o pressure

260 HH got 2957 fps with 88 gr of RL26 w/o pressure

I plan on pushing them up a big more. I will eventually try N565 on the 260's if RL26 shows high temp pressure spikes.

I'm shooting an edge with a proof research barrel and attempted to shoot 88 grns of H1000 with a 300 grn berger. I had pressure signs first shot. Are you guys not seeing any pressure signs at 91? The proof barrel may also be slightly tighter???

Is there significant variance in different brass mfr case capacities? To over generalize, Bertram/ADG/Peterson often have smaller case capacity than others.

I have Norma brass that I'm shooting but not sure if there should be that much variance. I have the bullet seated .010 off the lands too.
