338 lapua

I'm considering buying a 338 Lapua in Christensen mesa or going custom. I would like to keep it around 10-12lbs. I would like to shoot it suppressed ideally or with a break. I've never shot one and would like some first hand experiences. I'd pack it moderate distances and use it to shoot longer ranges 400+.

One thing I'd really like to know is how is the recoil. I've seen some videos on YouTube that look like a miserable donkey kick and others the aren't so bad.

It will probably have a brake and be fine. I have a custom 338 Lapua built on a defiance action and a manners eh1 stick that is about 9.5lbs bare rifle. I shoot it with a suppressor and it shoots great. Too comfortable almost, I have to limit the amount of ammo I take to the range
