I've been shooting a 300 win mag and 30 Hart for the last 5 years but got a really good deal on a 338 Lapua by Christensen Arms, Sporting version with Vortex Viper scope and was wondering what , if any, benefits shooting the 338 will give me. Ammo is expensive for sure but I'm paying $6.00 a round for the 30 Hart, which I've used to shoot everything from mule deer to moose. I get 3300 fps with a 180 Barnes.

This is for antelope? Not sure why you would limit yourself to these marginal performers and leave the chey-tac and snipe tac lines off the table. Antelope can take a beating with their massive bodies and thick skin.

No. Elk, moose, mule deer at a distance and all of the African species.

You posted this in the antelope sub, hence the thick sarcasm you're receiving.

Every gun you listed will kill a moose well into 4 digits if you steer it right.

Talk about taking the 223/77tmk rage to the opposite extreme. Dead is dead, but all three are incredibly overkill for an antelope. Unless, of course, you're waiting on them to stand in a line and take 3-4 out at the same time. In the days of inflation and a high-priced economy, every man has to do what's right for him.
