Just finalized load development on my Winchester M70 with 215 Bergers in a 300 WSM. 2860 fps, 68.6 grains of RL-26 at mag length .060 off the lands.

Great thread. Thanks for all of the input. Is anyone shooting the 215 Bergers out of an 11 twist Tikka? Thanks Duane

I have some RL 26 and Berger elite hunter 180s sitting here, anyone worked with that combo yet? Hope it shoots well in my rifle because on paper it looks hard to beat

I ran about 30 rounds of 215s and H-1000 out of a 26" Mullerworks 11 twist. Only took it to 100 yards but it sure seemed it stabilized them.

Those 180's are sleek and have a very high form factor. I would load them for sure if they could mag feed in my 300 WSM XBolt but they have a LONG nose. RL26 will likely get the best speeds too (maybe RL17 could challenge that), should be a nasty combo.

I switched from rl26 to rl16 because of the velocity spikes at higher temps with the rl26. Both powders shoot the 190 ablr .5 moa in my model 70 extreme weather, seated at 2.900.

i have burned up quite a bit of 26 since last summer.August in Missouri is about as nasty as it get when you throw in the humidity.
My loads have velocity deviations but speeds have been the same from summer to winter. I have a pro Chrony and a Magneto Speed.

Just worked up 212 ELDX in my brothers 1:11 OEM Tikka T3 Lite.

Topped out at just over 2900 fps from the 24" barrel and still never saw pressure but will likely settle on 2875-2880 region as there was a flat spot in the ladder there.

That said its kinda annoying when it shoots a whole ladder into one big hole as you don't know which ones were the best. :)

Shoot end up working pretty darn well.

I just ordered a model 7, 20” 1/10 twist, 300 WSM, HS stock for it, will try the factory trigger before I likely buy a timney. Just picked up a nice Bushnell elite 2.5-16x42 to use.

What powder do you find usually is best for the 300 WSM, temperature stable as I could be antelope hunting at 80 deg, goat hunting fairly cold? I’ll be running 200 gr partition if it will take them.

I already have W760, as my 325 WSM liked it, the fastest in the Nosler book is RL22, 19, but not sure the temp fluctuations on those. I don’t need a barn burner, just mid range speed wise, accuracy and temp steady is by far the most important to be.

My Kimber Montana in .300 WSM using 180 SST's, liked WW 760 the best.
Best speed and best accuracy.

Reloder 26 will get you the best speeds but it’s not known for being temp stable. Can be fine still if you don’t work up max charge loads at 30 degrees and then take them in hot weather.

H4831 is a great temp stable powder for 200s. To fit in a model 7 you’re going to have to seat 200s deep and will likely be a pretty compressed load with 4831. Eldx 200’s @ 2.9” with 66.9 gr drop tubed 4831sc is pretty compressed, I imagine you’ll need to be around 2.84” for a R7 mag.

H4350 is very stable and would work. Reloder 16 and 23 are Alliant’s temp stable offerings and are in the right burn rate range.

Awesome, TY. H4350 was def on my list, I originally wanted that for the 325, but couldn’t find it anywhere. Partitions I have had really good luck with COAL by the book, they seem to be pretty forgiving.
