Any one running a 300 wsm with any Barnes bullets, I'm used to a 300 ultra but recently got lucky and was able to pick up a winchester model 70 stainless for dirt cheap, looking for a hard thumping mule deer and elk bullet non lead,

I worked up a new 300 WSM Elk load last year for a WY. hunt. I ended up with the 175 LRX.
As with any solid run as much velocity as you accurately can. As per Barnes, start seating depth around
.050 off the lands and then go deeper. Because every rifle is different, seating deeper is not set in stone. The 168 TTSX is supposed to open up at a slightly less velocity and is just as accurate.

That's damn nice shooting, what speed were you looking at and any thoughts, on hybrid 100 v as a powder?

That will be one hard hitting round! i will have to see what i can come up with for rl 26 as i had bad temp issues with 25 im the ultra.

I am looking at a larger volume 30 myself. The RUM,300 PRC,300 Win are all in the running. Member
rfurman24 is doing a side by side on those three now. His results should be down to the nuts and bolts.
A long action 300 WSM is a possibility. Not the same case volume for bigger bullets but a sweet shooter.
Finally, I could just keep my 300 Weatherby.

There lies the problem. Seems the world is out of RL26 and has been since late last fall.

I picked up a box of factory just to go shoot sense brass isn't here yet, going to start at 200 and work my way back to 600 and see what happens. I'm ready to load for this its killing me

I have quite a bit of RL19 stashed back as it was my WSM starter, can’t really go wrong with it either.

I have some 19 left from my 270 wsm that I switched to mag pro, that's one of my favorite powders, haven't seen any data for it though in the 300,and I'm not super comfortable coloring out side the lines from the book with different powders

Have a look at Nosler’s reloading data. They have loads for their 175-180gr bullets with RL19. That should give you a starting point.

In my 300 win mag,I use 80.5 grains of H1000 with Barnes 175 LRX and fgmm primers. It shoots great out of my sendero and Havak. It’s .5 grains under book max and I load exactly to recommend COL. It’s going 3066 FPS out of the sendero.

Sendero on top.

Seekins Havak on bottom with same load. Have not zeroed the Havak yet b/c I’m still tinkering with loads.

I found this old post. I shoot the Barnes 175gr LRX in my 20” 300wsm. I get 2,890fps with 64gr of H4350. I’m 50mil off the lands like they say. It’s a tack driver for me, single digit SD’s, and hits like a hammer. I could shoot something smaller but it just works. I also don’t mind the recoil in my 11.4lb rifle with a can and a Backfire recoil pad.
