Obviously recoil is highly subjective to each shooter, but I've got a lightweight 300 with a SRS 3 port brake, and when I shoot it back to back with my unbraked 6.5 Creed I can't really tell a difference in felt recoil.
I was shooting a 6.5 cm while my braked 300 cooled, and my results were similar.
I bet that 300 OP has is a dream to carry, my Ruger goes a bit over 10 lbs loaded.

I never believed in brakes, till my 300 cut me open. Proned out shooting a cow a couple hundred yards out. Got the cow, and the ow. Had a crappy weaver all steel 3x9. Ditched that glass, put a nice zeiss 3x9, with a rubber ring on the eyepiec, on. Still kicked hard of course. Threaded by a local guy and had his brake installed. World of difference.View attachment 581604
Ouch!! Yes getting punched by the scope ring is not fun no matter how tough you are. That's a sweet looking Brake.

My FFT in 300 wears a Zeiss V6 3-18x50. Shoots very accurate and is a dream to take on long hikes.
Hello there fellow Fft shooter!! Care to shoot me some pics of your rig? What height rings did you use? I'm worried the 50mm I have would cause me to have to put a cheek riser on it. I was really shocked how the brake tamed the rifle been very pleased with my purchase of it.

It is a gamechanger with weight carrying it all day and throwing 300 wm downrange. By far my favorite and the lightest rifle I have

I have a ridgeline FFT in 280 AI. I originally wanted the NXS 2.5-10, but with it being a long action I would have had to add a rail and a few ounces for that scope to work. I ended up going with the credo hx 2.5-15x42 in Hawkins rings and I think its the perfect match with this gun.

Funny, I also started out looking for an NXS 2.5-10, and I ended up putting the Credo 2.5-15x42 on my daughter's gun. Very happy so far. I hadn't really checked out the Trijicons until I stumbled across the field testing the long range sub forum here and picked up a Tenmile. It impressed me enough that I stopped looking for a Nightforce and bought the Credo.

I'm unfamiliar with the Credo. Who makes them?

I have a Browning hells canyon long range 300WM and it's listed weight is 7 pounds 8 ounces. With the scope and bipod it's most likely 10. Which is not super lightweight but it's not bad at all to shoot without the break. Now my 300 WSM that is 6# without a scope was a different story before I had it braked.
