Hey guys I got a new rifle 300 PRC. I was wondering what bullets you would go with on elk and deer. I hunt wildly different areas that I have seen or had he opportunity from 100-1000 yard shots. I have been leaning towards the 215 Berger hybrids or the 225 Eldm. Let’s say they both shoot great out of my rifle. What bullet would you choose? It there is another bullet ,let me know what you think. Thanks for any real world experiences.

The 225 ELD-M is fantastic. If the rifle likes them I'd go with it for everything.

I shoot Hornady 225 ELDM's in my 300-PRC with solid results ... and they're easy to find in this craziness (Midway usually has them in stock).

I built a 300wsm on a long action specifically for the 215 berger, so that would obviously be my choice. I think its hard to go wrong with either option though.

The 215 Berger is legendary in 30 cal magnums. That would be my choice between the two. Not that there is anything wrong with the 225 eldm. I loaded 230gr Bergers in mine but didn't get a chance to kill anything with it. They shot fantastic though

I’ve had excellent luck with the 215’s out of my 300 PRC so far. Killed an aoudad ram at 700 yards about a month ago. One shot quartering away mid body, bullet did not exit. Did not hit any major bone and the ram was down where he stood, kicked for a few secs then lights out. Shot about a 120 pound boar at 300 yards that trip as well. Shot was behind the shoulder, no major bone. Boar dropped where he stood and didn’t twitch. First time I’ve ever seen blood spray from a kill. There was blood sprayed 5-8 yards behind the boar on the exit side. Exit was 3”-4” in diameter. I have also killed a few things with the 225 ELDM and personally, I like what I’ve seen from the 215 better so far. I have the 215 exiting the muzzle at 2975 fps. I will be using it for elk this year.

Thanks appreciate the info!!! That is what I was gonna start with was the 215 bergers. When reloading supplies were hard to get I picked up 500 of them. Time to see if my 300 PRC likes them.

Anyone use factory 190 cx and have accuracy, velocity, and results?

MIne loves the 225 ELD -M, itty bitty groups.

That said it is being rebarreled as its shot out and I think I am going to go with the 205 EH from burger.

Did you kill anything with the ELD-M? I am curious about the terminal results with the 225 ELD-M.
What has inclined you to switch to the 205 EH?

Last year I used the Cutting Edge Bullets 200gr Lazer in my 300PRC. It killed a Caribou, Grizzly and bull Elk.Terminal performance was incredible. One thing to keep in mind though is that you need a magazine with an internal length of at least 3.75 in order to seat the bullet properly.

That said I am working on a load using the 215 berger for this season. Just because....
