I just bought a batch from Scheels! Let's get this load development going already, I'm dying here! Merry Christmas!!
I hear ya!

I just realized I don't have 215 primers, only 210.......anyone know if I'm wasting time/money/components loading with 210's?

Merry Xmas fellas!

That's awesome. Please share! I'm going to do some load development w/ 220gr ELD-X once some ADG brass comes into stock.

I’ve been working up hunting loads for my Bergara Highlander 300 PRC for about year now. It’s is a 1/9 twist, best results to date are with N560, Berger 210 VLD Hunter, and Winmag primers. Using the satterlee ladder method I have played with Nosler 180 and 200gr, Hornady 212, and the Berger 210. For powders H1000, H4831, and N560. My son harvested his first Elk this fall with it, one shot dropped in its tracks, granted it was a 125 yard chip shot.
I have some Hammer Hunter 199’s on the way to play with next. happy to share load data and range results with anyone who wants it.
Attached are the loads and results I have found with my rifle set up mentioned in the last post. Disclaimers: I am a novice reloader and only started due to the unavailability of 300PRC Ammo. My goal is to re-estabilish confidence in my rifle and load after a heartbreaking failure on my first really big Bull Elk in WY a a couple years ago (.308 rife and range finder hit the classifieds after I got home). With a new gun and much more time at the range and re-loading bench I hope to be ready for redemption in 2021. I am using a Magento Speed sporter, RCBS press, Hornady dies. I dont claim to be an expert only sharing to hopefully save other time and $. Let me know if you have any questions on the attachment.

My vote is for whatever shoots best in your gun. 180gr Nosler Accubonds shot best for me.

I'm running a 215g Hybrid. Great BC, easy to load, and a lot of terminal ballistics data out there on how good of a hunting bullet the 215g Hybrid is.

I got myself some 220 ELD-X but I'm going to try 215 hybrids next. And if for some crazy reason, neither of those are floating my boat, I will probably try some Hammer Hunters in 214gr or 227gr.

The 220 ELDx have a longer bearing surface, shorter nose, and lower BC than the 212. They are designed with the shorter nose to work with magazine length constraints. The only reason to choose them over the 212 is if you can't get the 212s to work with your magazine length or if you want a slower velocity.

In regards to berger, i'd pick the 215 over the 210 every day but if you must have a bullet dubbed for hunting, the 205 Elite hunter has the hybrid Ogive, a slightly higher BC, and will be able to achieve a little higher velocities than the 210 VLD.

Wish you could have chimed in earlier, before I bought the 220s. Hahaha just kidding. I'm just getting into load development. I'm sure I'll be trying many different bullets. Plus the slight velocity change isnt too big of a concern to me. This a hunting setup - not a PRS setup. I like the "idea" of a heavier bullet when shooting game, plus it gives a slight edge with wind and even at a slower velocity it should do well with expansion.

Again, I'm new to this, hence why I was asking for input! I really appreciate it. Looks like I'll be picking up some yellow box shortly!

220s will work fine. We’re really just nitpicking at this point.

Just to be clear though, 212s would do better than 220s in the wind if they were going the same speed and that is further impacted by 212’s ability to be pushed faster. Weight alone doesn’t change how much a bullet will be impacted by wind, BC does.

Oh, ok! I can see that point of view! I was thinking that a light bullet even if it's going, say 3050fps may be more susceptible to getting pushed as opposed to a heavier bullet going 2950. Again, I'm just dipping my pool into the ocean of reloading. It's been fun! Thank you for straightening me out.

I have a Christensen Arms Mesa, and have only shot the 225 ELD-M's factory ammo through it and have had extremely good results. I've been trying to source all the components to reload the 210 VLD Bergers. As of current haven't had luck getting the bullets. Luckily I still have 3 boxes of factory ammo.

I voted for the VLD just because I have experience with the Classic Hunter bullets. With the velocity you'd expect out of a PRC and that bullet weight range I think the CH or VLD would be a very accurate option. Thats not to say the ELDX won't be accurate, just in my load development with my first two calibers the Bergers were easier to work up a load. As I say that I have a build underway that Im going to try ELDX first. The Hammer Hunters are gaining in popularity too.

Did you get a chance to try the 199HH? I am interested if you tried any loads with them..

I'll be working on loads with the 215/230 Berger Hybrids and trying out the Berger EOL 245 as well with N570. Should have some solid numbers soon to contribute.

22" Barrel
1:8 Twist
ADG Brass
N570
Federal 215GM
how did the data go with the 245 EOL's? i have a bunch i just loaded up to start testing with the labradar

I'm getting ready to start loading for my Proof Research Glacier Ti. in 300 PRC. With all the issues of availability in components I'm trying to make the right decision the first time around on a hunting round. One obvious option is just going with Hornady ELD-X in 212gr or what I would lean towards - the 220gr. But Berger makes a good billed and so does Sierra. Never been a huge fan of Nosler with my .308 and 30-06.

I'm just curious if anyone has personal experience with Berger Classic Hunter or VLD and Sierra GameKings with the 300PRC and actual hunting results.

I'm adding the Poll just to see what most say, would love to hear in the comments below from guys would have real experience and suggestions!

ALSO, if anyone has a hookup for some bullets, that's the only thing I really need right now. Just got my primers, 4lbs of H-1000 and brass.
I’ve got some 220 grain eld-x if you haven’t found any yet

I just ordered a 300 PRC barreled action and plan on using the badlands bulldozer 2, but I haven’t decided which bullet weight yet. I am hoping to find an accurate load with H4831 so I’m leaning towards the the 175gr. BD-2
