300 Blkout Expansion / Hogs

Any of you running 300 blackout for hogs? I've been running the 130 grain barnes tsx and it's done ok. Just not seeing a lot of expansion or full penetration. Normally don't want to find the bullet and prefer a bigger hole. This weekend had a quartering to shot that made it through the shoulder blade and then stuck in gristle plate on the off shoulder ( factory ammo ). I get that it's a slow poke, just was expecting consistent pass through and more expansion. Anyone found anything better? Staying away from 556 just seen too many issues with it on pigs. Trying to recover them, all the ones that I shoot I donate if my freezer is full. My shots are all under 200 yds, at night and after they are usually hauling ass after the first shot goes.

The blackout isn't really a high energy round, it's good but figure it being like a 3030 or hot 357 mag out of a rifle.

I'd probably shoot a bonded bullet and accept lack of penetration. I use a 357 mag rifle when looking at sub 100 yd shots. Have an AFrame load that'll surprise with its penetration but there is no shock and awe like w a similar HTP load that dumps em on the ground. Both are 158 gr bullets 1900 fps.

110 Black tip Tac TX are the absolute bomb-diggetty on hogs out to 200yds.
130s are a little too slow to really see their full potential beyond 75/80 yds. They need to be pushed at .308 velocities.
The Black Tips were specifically designed for the blk & expand fully at far lower velocity.
I'm hitting 2450 with them out of my 16" AR & I've killed hogs out to 220yds, bang flop.

I hunt hogs with a 16" 300BO. My hog round is a 110gr Barnes TAC-TX pushed by 19.5gr Win 296. I have also run the 125gr Sierra Pro Hunter but tend to stick to the Barnes. They are pricey but I only shoot a couple mags of this load a year. I have stretched out to 250yds with it and wouldn't go any further. I have seen subs used on hogs and ethically, I wouldn't do it. You see people using 208 A-Max or the 200-220gr Match Kings failing to expand creating an ice pick style wound. With that said, I would like to see some real world data on the 190gr Hornady Sub-X.

If you have a 300 Black Out you have to have the 110 TX back tips. I've not found anything else that compares to them.

I agree. I've used just about every BLK bullet available and I've had the most luck with the 110 Barnes.

I’ve had great success on deer and pigs both with the 130 grain TSX (Remington Hog Hammer) The feral pigs here in Ga aren’t usually that big, with the exception of the occasional 300# beast. I’d say a good average weight is 100–150#. I’m running a 16” carbine suppressed, so I’m getting all I can out of the 130’s.
I recently came across 100 rounds of the Barnes Tac TX black tips. These will be my go to loads for the seasons to come in my 16” Carbine and in my Pork Sword 10.5”.

No pigs where I live but I've been enjoying putting my 300 blackout to use on bears, so close enough. Between the wife and I we killed 5 black bears last spring with it, 3 with supers and 2 with subs. It's impressive when specifically designed bullets are used and hunting suppresed with subs is a lot of fun. For supers I load 115gr Lehigh controlled chaos right around 2,340fps and 190gr Maker REX at 1,025fps both out of a 10 inch barrel.
