Yep. And we have a bonus point system, not preference points. Big difference. Most everyone, whether they know it or not, will ever draw an OIL or coveted quality tag. It's a lottery with very slim chances, even with tons of points.

Absolutely did the same thing. If I go back to hunt it will be for waterfowl

Come on down south to A-Zone or most of the D Zones in CA. You can hunt every year and get two buck tags if you want. Finding a shooter is the hard part. Then you can complain about no deer instead of no tags.

I feel your pain! (grin) 33 years in idaho & not a single elk tag drawn, basically all the same unit! I gave up 3 years ago & haven't applied since! (good thing I enjoy OTC)

The unit I want in CO seems to grow one point ahead of me every year. At least there are only a few ahead of me so I can only hope they draw or die.

Nothing for me as well in WA. 26 (now 27) points in quality buck. I started applying as a teen and am in my late 40s now. I've realized I may go my entire life as a resident and never draw.

Thankful there are much better states to apply and hunt in.

I'm in the same situation. I go out to my property in Missouri and mow down 3 or 4 a year.
