30 nosler +P

Hi, new to the slide, looking to build a 30 nosler +P with 22 inch barrel. Anyone have have experience with this and are you able to hit 3100 node with the 215?

My first 30 Nosler +P didn't quite go as planned. It shot ok but I never really love the accuracy, so I wanted a redo and went with a longer steel barrel. The build list will change I had to borrow a chassis till my stock is done. Anyways I took her out today, I shot the same Unknown Munitions...

I doubt you’ll hit 3100 with a 22”.

I did one last year with a 22" barrel. I was able to hit 3100 with RL26 and went with the 208 Berger LRHT mainly due to availability, but they just so happen to have the same BC. I settled for node around 2980 because it was more accurate and had an ES of 13 over 8 rounds. I killed 2 mature mule deer with them. One at 330 yards and another at 80 yards, both died instantly. Wound channels were excessive.

Possibly, my 30 nosler isnt +P but throated for 245s and it has a 26" barrel. I am shooting the 215s at 3175 with retumbo. Could get more speed with rl26 or n570 but I am happy with this load.

That’s smoking! How much freebore did you add?

I’m getting pieces together to have a 30nos built do you mind providing your gun specs?

Yes, I shot a bull at 670. Hit him high in the spine, so he just dropped.
Shot an aoudad at 620 and that was complete pass through.
Last night my cousin shot a coues deer at 350 and that turned his lungs to mush with a pass through.

A lot, I gave the gunsmith a dummy round with a COAL of 3.750 with the 245s.

My rifle specs are kelby atlas action, bartlein #3 @ 27", TI PRO 4 brake, mesa precision arms stock, hawkins M5 oberndorf bottom metal, triggertech trigger and topped it with a mark 5hd 5-25x56.

I haven't played with the 245s yet. I plan on trying out N570 with the 245s. Now that the weather is getting cooler, I will do some more load development after these next coues hunts.

Sounds good, I’m having 30 nosler built and am planning on 215s but also wanna try 230s so definitely keep me posted! Good luck
