Best bino $500-$1k

Binos are like boots and packs….some just don’t work with a persons eyes or face and it’s best to try a bunch in field, everything looks amazing in the store.

I wanted to love the Conquest HD/HDX but just couldn’t get them to work for me.

Leica image just didn’t work for optically.

Ended up between razor UHD and Kowa Genesis. After testing both in the field….the Genesis 10.5 are the ones in the harness.

I’ve got some Kowa Genesis and they are amazing. My wife stole them from me and now I’m back to using my Leica geovid r’s

The Vortex Razor UHD 10X42 is a stellar bino....at $1200 new it's a great optic, but if you can shop around and find a refurbished or like new demo option for $950-1k, I would jump all over that

Check Sierra for refurb or Dvor for new.

Not something you can just go get on purpose but if you come across an older pair of the Swar... sorry, "Kahles" 10x42s in good shape, you'd be getting a lot of glass for $600-700

I had the Vortex Razors for years and always wanted a bit more optically. To be honest, the Razor's performed just fine so this was more of a want than a need. I spent a fair bit of time looking at new glass in the sub $1K range and nothing really stood out enough for me to go through the trouble of selling my razors and switching. Just like most of us, I wanted Alpha glass at a sub $1K price point and had trouble meeting that criteria. I ended up falling into a near new set of Leica Ultravid HD+ for well under $1K that came with an outdoorsman stud and bino adapter. My point is.......don't rule out a nice pair of used binos and don't rush your purchase as I'm sure your current ones work just fine. There are deals out there and getting the glass you want is far more rewarding than settling for something slightly better.
