Is it even possible to have anything new to say about the 30-06?

Well, no. Unless someone comes up with a way to make it even more perfect for any big game that doesn't require a .375 H&H, anyway.

I've killed a slew of deer, yotes and maybe a turkey or 3 with my '06.
A great do it all cartridge.

Chop a stainless/synthetic 30-06 @ 18", suppress it, and shoot target bullets. Old funds are really conflicted it's a 30-06 but looks modern. Flat brimmers are conflicted it looks cool but it's a 30-06. haha.

30-06 will be more than enough to handle any big game in America. In the end it all comes down to shot placement (practice, practice and more practice). Bullets with higher BC’s perform better at range. Look for bonded bullets. Anything 140+ grains will work for elk!

I shoot a Tikka 30-06 and love it. Only regret I have is not getting it in stainless.
