30-06 or 7mm mag for 2nd rifle?

Another vote for the 30-06. Inside of 500 yards, almost all the premium factory ammunition is producing above the recommended energy for elk. My furthest elk harvested with one is 477 yards - the bull in my avatar. I have seen a pile of elk die from both cartridges - dead is dead. I just like the .30 caliber offerings for elk.
