3 Pin slider sighting in help .

First off I'm new so I apologize in advance if my question is pretty lame .

I have a 3 pin slider (Black Gold Ascent Verdict with .19 green/.19 red/.10 green) (thank you s&s archery). I'm attempting to choose a sight tape .
I have (almost lol) 20y/30y/40y dialed in , with the housing dialed all the way up to the stop . I want to use my middle pin(red) as the floater as A/ i seem to see red very well and B/read here about using the middle as the floater and the outside pins as +10 or -10 in case the critter moves .
I get that i need to sight in the floater at 60 yards and mark that spot but get lost at marking the 20 again . Do I mark the 20 with the floater ?? then the marks at 20 and 60 determine which tape i use ??? Or is there another way I'm missing to choose a sight tape ??

I did 30 and 60 on the floater. Pick the tape. Then set your first pin to 20 and 3rd to 40 using the pin micro adjustment. It shouldn't matter which distances you use to pick the tape.

its the changing from using the bottom pin as the floater to the middle one that has me confused .
I'll try the 30 and 60 and try out a tape for that .

If the floater is 30yds when the sight is topped out, move it down till your dead on at 60 with it and make a mark. Then just compare tapes till you find one that lines up with the red pin at 30 and 60.

Some people prefer using 30 yds for the tape comparison over 20 because your more likely to have a more accurate elevation at 30. The longer site distance shows slight errors much more drastically so you can get a better setting if you will.

Might want to consider setting your pins to 25, 40, 50; or 20, 40, 50 if you shoot a lot at 20 yards. Really easy to pin gap 20-40, and it will give you an extra 10 yards to play with before you are forced to dial.

Agree, I am using a very similar setup to the OP and have pins set at 30-40-50. Under 30 you hold a couple inches low and you're golden. I can also shoot just fine at 60 by putting my 50 pin on the target, making a note of where my 40 pin is, then moving my 50 pin to where the 40 pin was. Faster than dialing with more than acceptable accuracy.

Thanks everyone . I may just try the 30-40-50 . I'd have to reset the pins (already at 20-30-40 ) but its fun to shoot so no prob .
I'll be hunting in some pretty heavily wooded areas though (not many long shots in all likely hood ) but am trying to organize a bucket list archery elk hunt and am setting the rig accordingly .
