In the panhandle season runs sept-march, with trapping I believe dec-march, but check regs for verification.

That's freakin awesome!! I would love to whack some wolves (legally lol). Taking 3 females was equally impressive.

Man, that is one hell of a story. That will most likely happen only once in a lifetime. It would have been nice to have been there
Way to get it done.

You sir are a hero! Thank you!

I've been hunting them hard for the past 2 years, learned a lot so hopefully I can get it done this year!

To further expand on what Ross and Ryan said, the hunting season on public land in the panhandle (N ID) runs from August 30-march 31 with the trapping being November 15-march 31. Now hunting on private land is much different as the season is open year round. As for the number of wolf tags any joe hunter can buy 5 tags, but if you take a 6 hour trapping class that breaks the bank at a whole 9 dollars you can buy an extra 5 tags totaling 10. So as of now I have two tags left but after the 15th will have 7 at my disposal. Now all I need is an AR-10 set up with a vortex and I could have stacked them up like cord wood.

BTH, are you using foot power, four wheeler or a snowmobile?
Until the snow piles up and forces me to put the tracks on my wheeler I have been hunting from my truck. Which usually isn't the case as I normally apply the miles with the tread from my boots... These encounters actually came as an accident as the only form of noise maker I had was an old elk diaphragm in my glove box. Apparently my attempt at a coyote was good enough. :)

Is this a seasonal thing or can ya hunt em anytime? I would LOVE to hunt wolves...my wall needs more fur. <g> I'm in So. Calif. (don't hate me) but would travel up there if i had someone invite me (nudge nudge) who knows where to go. Have a FoxPro FX5 and everything too.
When it comes to wolves the more barrels pointed down range the better :)

Congrats!!! I have never heard of anyone getting 3 out of one pack in 2 days. Great job, hope you can stay on them.
