So Last year My dad drew his first ever elk tag at the age of 70. My 26 year old son also drew so the pressure was on for me to deliver the best possible experience I could. I started hunting 5 years or so back and have pulled the boys in with me so I felt it was my responsibility.
Late Cow elk in AZ you would think is a drop kick but I have helped out on a few and its no easy deal.
I picked up a few items to help with the comfort level so dad wouldn't miss his Montana 5th wheel.
Davis wall tent went on order and I welded up my own stove for it. Davis bed rolls and cots and some good food and beer and I figured rough days in the field would be easy to recover from.
The hunt didn't disappoint, it had everything one should, hard hikes, long sits, turmoil, oh and dad made a great 80 yard shot and took his first ever big game animal. What hunt wouldn't be complete without a night time butcher and pack job.
Of course this was the hunt with the mountain Lion coming in to one of our stands and we saw plenty of deer and bulls.
Heres a few pics, Enjoy
