They were still doing the same thing they were in the 80s,90s, 2000s. Tactics changed some. Pressure increased a bunch since 80s. Elk were still in same areas doing same things.

Weirdest part is the hunters. They still overlooking the same places they always have. Which I find hilarious considering how many there are now.

I haven't hunted CO OTC since 2017 but did 2015-2017 and was able to turn up 300"+ bulls every time in two starkly different units. One was deep wilderness type and the other was hiding in plain sight type. If I didn't think I could turn up a 280"+ type animal and be willing to hold out for one I wouldn't hunt there.

Pass, and then shoot a nice tender young cow that's following him. B tag ftw, pack out the cow and keep looking for a shooter bull.

Not the biggest bull but still a super cool bull. I bet he tastes good and that’s all I care about
