Falken wildpeak R/T

The falken wildpeak at3 is a great tire for a late fall/winter. The tire compound is a little softer to achieve that 3 peak snow rating so hot summer months they'll wear out quicker, but I've had no complaints. Used them for 5 winters and a summer in 37's on my duramax

Toyo M55 would also be a good option for a heavy duty tire if it has it in your desired rim/tire size.

I have read through most of the truck tire threads here, but I still have questions. I love the Falken Wildpeak AT3s on my 1/2 ton, but I don't love them on the 3/4 ton(Wear and Flats)

My truck spends a third of the time on the pavement with no trailer, a third in the woods with no trailer, and a third of the time pulling a 6-8 thousand pound horse trailer on payment and the woods. Which AT would you choose?
Whatever options you choose, I highly recommend stopping in to chat with Nik at Cutting Edge Customs in Post Falls, he’s gotten me some great deals on tires and has experience with nearly all of the tires discussed here.

I had the toyo AT2's on an F350, and a set on a Land cruiser. Those sucked big time in snow (both fresh and packed) for me.

Duratrac's on the cruiser and on a loaded down F150 were the best performing snow and ice tire I've ever used (aside from dedicated studded snow tires). Pretty good in mud, got noisy kind of fast but when new they had great road manners. I get the impression that life is even shorter on a ¾T.

Lots of heavy electric and gas company trucks up here (Ketchum area) run the Cooper ST Maxx. They seem to be the Tikka of AT tires on heavy trucks. Good in snow, good highway manners, good tread life, OK mud clearing.

I have been really impressed with the Falken MT's on my Sequoia. It's built more for more go-fast than my Land cruiser, and I got the center rows of lugs siped, but I've been really impressed so far. That's not nearly as heavy as a ¾T though, and I generally only run them at 35 psi, down to 15ish in rocks and 10 in snow. Some chunking of tread, but wearing pretty evenly at ~20k.

I’ve had duratracs, Toyo at2, bfg ko2, nitto terra grapplers on the Cummins. Next set I’m thinking the Toyo ct based on reviews I’ve seen, 80-100k. Ctd outpost on YouTube got 97k on his last set and that guy is as honest as they come.

Duratracs have been awesome on the 4Runner but hit and miss on the 3/4 ton. My current set of nittos have 30k and are shot, 50k mileage rating but didn’t even come close to that. Rotated every 5k.
