Hello 'Sliders. I'm looking for pet loads to feed my 2 .280 Rem's. I've been using various 6.5's and 28 Nos for the last 5 or 6 years. I was doing my diligence a month or so ago, cleaning all the guns in my safe that hadn't been used recently. When I pulled out my 280's, I got thinking about all the game I've taken with those 2 rifles. I started out in the late 90's using Speer Hot-Cor, then moved to 154 Hornady SST's. Both bullets always did the job fine. I use Bergers in my newer guns now, so I'd like to come up with a good load for .280 using Bergers as well. They are both Remington 700's, one a BDL and the other a Mountain rifle model.
There is a lot of info out there on 280 AI using Berger bullets, but that doesn't do me much good. If any of you have used the 150 or 168 Berger Classic Hunter in a 280 Rem, I'd like to hear the specifics. Powder, charge weight, primer, etc.

Edit: Forgot to mention, 21" barrel, Tikka long action with COAL of 3.06

Not a 280 remington but I've started loading and shooting a 284 win, fairly similar capacity and ballistics. I've tried 162gr eldm with H4350 52-53.5gr at 2850-2934, Staball 6.5 52-53.5gr 2780-2862. I also have 150gr maker t-rex with the same powders, 51.5-52gr at 2850-2882 for H4350, and 2693-2740 with the staball 6.5. I tried charges of 51, 53, and 55gr of hunter powder as well, just dont have the data in my notes right now. I used nosler data for the hunter, hodgdon and lee data for h4350.

I am leaning towards the H4350.
