.280 AI uses?

Kind of like the .277 fury, never really took off even when they put out brass cases. Great concept but pricey.

The prices I’ve seen have been comparable to other premium ammo. I saw the load with barnes for $64 and the fusion tipped for less than $50

Maybe 5% of shooters reload. MAYBE. Reloaders have zero bearing on a cartridge's success or failure.

Most of us have zero desire to pick up yet an additional hobby like reloading.
Seven backcountry clearly gives an edge to hunters who want to run suppressed and not have a rifle that's unnecessarily long, and not give up muzzle velocity. Thats part of the reason the military picked up 277 fury.

Ammunition is about $3 a round. It's a pretty strong kicker without a muzzle brake. And with a muzzle brake it's ungodly loud. We're talking ear plugs plus ear muffs territory. It'll wake the dead and Deafen the living. So like I said it's a pretty good choice for a hunter who's a low volume shooter and wants to run suppressed and is willing to lay out the cash to buy a can for the rifle. It's nearly a must at 80,000 PSI.

I will leave out the sketchy feasibility in the future of reloading because you don't think it matters.

Still that is a lot of limitations for a new round. Especially since there are already way too many 7mm cartridge to be practical. It could be that seven back country is more of a niche cartridge than the 280 AI which is long since proven as a great 7 mm cartridge. It just hasn't been commercial for long.

I guess we will all see which cartridge gains wide appeal but it'll take a long time.
