.280 AI Powders

N560 was my latest to try. I worked up a load for my 280ai last week using it and 160gr TMK. Virgin Peterson brass avg 2973 with 59.5gr and once fired averaged 3011 with SD of 11. 1.5 MOA for 10 shots. I just need to shoot it more and see how it averages out. It was pretty cold and windy the day I tested. I'll keep playing with this combo, but I don't see me adjusting much, if at all. I need to take it out to 300-500yd next.

Y'all should consider staball6.5, it's cheap and it works well. Also much temperature sensitive than 7828ssc which I have had problems with during the hotter months. I run it out of my 84L 280ai.
160gr accubonds, partitions, and ELDxs all pushing 3000fps, single digits SDs at 56.4-56.6grs and 1.1-1.2moa for 10 shots.

Good info. I have a friend with a small gun shop that has landed on Staball for his 280AI as well. I may have to try that, but I just have an aversion to ball powders. Single digit SDs with that velocity has my attention though.

For now, I’m still stuck on N555. I shot two 5-shots in the 4s, now with the 162 ELDX at low 2900s. My barrel just seems to like that powder better than Re23 and H4831.
