270win 22 inch barrel, 130 or 150gr

My vote would be either 129 LRX, 130 TTSX or maybe something like a 124 Hammer Hunter, 1-10 twist will stabilize those. Push them fast and they should be good for all the thin-skinned animals.

If you ask around you may find some 270/150gr loads that push over 3000 fps with a 150. They will be with modern slow burning powders. Maybe not with monos due to high bore contact.

But you should ask the PH what works best. If you told him you were shooting partitions and have practiced at all practical ranges he'd be tickled pink.

But it's all your choice! Have fun!

I was able to push a 165 Gr Nosler ablr to 2900fps with Reloader 26 in a 24” fast twist barrel so you should be able to get close to the 3000fps mark with a 150 Gr bullet if you reload. Otherwise you can’t go wrong with a light fast mono in your 1:10 twist barrel either

Heading to Africa and my featherweight 270 is goin , brain is having a tuga war between taking 130gr Barnes or hornday CX , or a Norma 150 oryx, or anything tough that will stabilize in a 22 inch M70
150gr ablr, 136gr terminal ascent, 129gr lrx, and a 155gr lrx (some people can get it to stabilize and get 3000fps out of it) are all solid.

I Don’t reload much anymore
What a fun trip! That’s a classic rifle as well. That 140 gr Nosler Accubond seems like a good fit for much of what a 270 gets used for, and is available in Nosler ammo. As much as I like the Partition, a few decades of good results with the Accubond, combined with the higher BC make it a safe replacement that shoots a little flatter.

If Nosler made a 150 gr Accubond I’d probably still stick with the 140 gr.

My .270 Win Model 70 Featherweight seems to prefer the heavier 140-150g bullets but your experience may vary.

You could just pick the one that shoots best since they are all great options. That said I like the Oryx bullet the best of those.
