I’m building a 270WSM now on a Kelbly Atlas Lite long action. What freebore did you add/use when cutting your chambers. I plan on running the heavier bullets and also a Badlands SBD2 150.

Are you running a Short or Long action and what projectiles have you been running? Sounds like that is an additional .100 of freebore beyond SAAMI?

Been a while since I've posted, but I know lots of you guys like the 300 WSM. I'm looking at the 270 WSM throated long and twisted fast enough to shoot the 165 accubond lr. Seems like a guy could get the best of both worlds of tge 6.8 western and the extra capacity of the wsm. Is there any reason this wouldn't work in a long action magnum Remington 700? I have a 7mm rm that needs a barrel anyway. Would I be better off swapping the Remington off for a Tikka? I know Tikkas work great for wsm's, and would probably be cheaper to rebarrel in the long run, but I've never owned one, and tge recoil lug has always bothered me for whatever reason. Any input from those with experience will be appreciated.

Before you convert to 270WSM, try to find brass or ammo. It is nearly impossible to find or insanely expensive.

Actually I purchased 300 pieces of new Brass the other day for a reasonable price. My LGS also has 3 brand new shipments of Factory ammo from Winchester.

That is great. I really wanted a 270 WSM Tikka but could not find ammo or brass. Glad it worked out for you.

How much freebore did you have done in your chamber. I ended up going with .200 total freebore.

Couldn’t tell you… made a dummy round that would feed from the Hawkins hunter mag and had it throated to that
