Hey All,

I know in the 6.5cm they use H4350 or a powder close to it. Does anyone know the powder type and amount that is closest to 270 precision hunter?

This was the second time I’ve tried shooting this stuff through my 270 and it loves it. This is a 4 shot group from today. Want to see if I can duplicate the factory stuff. Doing so should give me a good idea on how good/bad my reloading process is since I have have found a super accurate factory load to try to copy

Not really worth trying to copy a factory load as they sometimes use powders that aren’t available to reloaders. That said I use H4350 reloading for several 270’s and it’s almost always the powder I settle on. 4831ac and H100V are two other good ones, but if you have access to H4350 id start there and you’ll probably find something that works.

Thanks for the info. I agree most factory ammo uses special powder but I know for at least the 6.5cm, they used to print the load data on the box so didn’t know if they did that for other calipers

A little off topic but would love to see the H4350 load for the 6.5GM you have.
You can PM it to me if needed or preferred.

This is good advice. I will contradict a bit and suggest shooting the factory loads with a chronograph to get the average velocity. Chase that value with different powders and you might get lucky.
