I know of a few roksliders using and some that maybe looking into the 260ai round, thought I would start a thread with some info on the two I have ran with some loading info as well.

Jump in if you have 260ai data to add

-1st was done on a Steven's model 200 action with a stockys tactical laminated stock, internal box mag was used, Mc Gowan 27" 1:8 barrel, sharp shooter supply competition trigger, nightforce nxs, lapua brass with H4350 (42.5grains) 140 berger hunting vld with cci br2 primers @ 2825fps from memory. I did try some eazor precision 146grain bullets in it and rl26 at the end of barrel life, but it always shot the above load best in competition @EdgeFan , hunting and longer range practice @pyroducksx3

-2nd is on a defiance anti with a mesa precision altitude stock, wilson 1:8 #4 fluted barrel @25", trigger tech primary trigger, using mdt magazines, swfa 3-15, thunderbeast ultra 7.
Have used some starline, but mainly been using and sticking with alpha brass, cci 200, h4350 (43.4 grains), 140 berger h vld @2835fps.

Forming loads were shot out to 700yds at times with h4831sc and bergers as the rifle seemed to like that more than h4350 in forming. Once all brass was formed tried h4350 again and it all came together. I have been trimming with a 3 way head on powered rcbs teimmer, annealing every firing so not to have to keep track, full length size with redding bushing dies then running through a mandrel die before cleaning, priming and loading again.

This last weekend I met up with @PanhandlePilgrim and we were shooting out to 1300 yards, have done most shooting with this one out to 900 with great results trying to focus more on cold bore hits in different terrain.

I do have another barrel from Excalibur on the stevens action that has never really been headspaced perfect that I am debating getting rid of, fluted, 1:8, small shank savage, cerakoted.

I really enjoy my 260 AI "Budget Build". Rem 700 SA, Rock Creek barrel 25", 1-8", SWFA 10X Milquad in SWFA medium rings, 60 MOA NF rail, old H&S stock. Coldbore chuck at around 535 yards and coldbore badger at 659 yards. Both with 145 gr Barnes Matchburners @ 2875 fps. Nosler brass, Rem 9 1/2 primers and Hunter. It was fine until temps got over 90 degrees so I won't reveal the charge. I'm now testing 140 gr ELDM's with a light charge of Staball 6.5 at around 2820 fps.

I just put a McGowan prefit 260 ackley 7.5 twist 20 inch on a few weeks back. I’ve got about 40 fireforming rounds down the barrel with 140 RDF and 127 LRX. Both using lapua brass and H4350. It seems to be liking the 140s at whatever random length I chose but the 127s are pretty decent too.

Top group is 140s and bottom is 127s. Not actually sure how many rounds are in each but it was getting pretty warm towards the end.

I will probably end up hunting with fireforming loads with the 127s going about 2820 but we will see how far I make it before rifle season.

Lowest bullet weigh I have ran was 130 accubonds and they were fast I forget now the speed. Had just happened to have some sitting around and tried then to see how they would do and on paper great, bear didn't seem so great. Almost like they were splashing like the old "accu bomb" name

The former ballistician for Nosler Matt Smith favored 100 gr BT for his 6.5x280 AI. Steve Timms wrote that he killed some big bulls using that combo. Looks like it works wells.
I can tell you that 142smk, 140mb and 140rdf are all hard on elk.

What kind of speeds and barrel length are you getting with those 142's? Wondering what I could expect from the 145 MB and a 18-20" barrel.

26" tubes are running 2950 22" tubes 2850....all +/- a fuzz. All my loading is for accuracy and sierra suggested 2900 as a target velocity for that bullet's accuracy.
