So I’m trying to figure out a good non temp sensitive powder for the 260 Ackley Imp shooting the 156 bergers and Lapua brass out of a long action and 25in barrel. So they’ll be able to be seated as long as needed. I know RL26 will probably work well but I’m not a huge fan of weird spikes and such with it personally. Would N560 work well? I’ve never tried it. Any others I’m not thinking of that would give good velocity and not be temp sensitive?

Thanks

I've never seen weird spikes with 26 but have with 17. I'd try 23 for sure, I'm getting almost 2800 fps in a Creedmoor with 147's. Also, don't rule out 22 if you have some laying around.

It was my understanding that the 500 series powders from Vihtavouri were double base with Nitroglycerin added to squeeze every bit of velocity of a load. The 100 series are single base and will be more temp stable.

There is data out there available for N160 in standard 260 Rem with up to 140 gr. bullets.

I have used H4350 in my 260 Rem for years and Hodgdon publishes data for it with bullets up to 160gr. It's been a fantastic powder for me so that is worth a look as well.
