26 Nosler, What do you think?

Just read about the 26 Nosler rifle and it caught my attention. I already like .264 caliber rifles and have been trying to decide between a .264 Win mag or a 6.5-06 or something else similar. Any opinions appreciated. I currently have a .260 but would like to be able to shoot a little faster and flatter.

I'm not sure what case it's based on, 375 Ruger, Ultra Mag?

A 264 WM fits in an '06 action length, and comes so close to the speeds they claim it's a non-issue. It's also well established, with brass available from several different makers. Also stupid simple to make from 7mm mag. No reason a 264 can't head space off the shoulder instead of the belt... I've seen me do it. A SAAMI spec 264 chamber allows 140 Berger VLDs to kiss lands at less than magazine length in an '06 magazine.

As was mention before you can have mag case headspaced on the shoulders and I have mine done like that even to my latest build 270Wby.

I've done the 6.5x284 Norma also 264 mag and not really sure what the market be for a 26 Nolser.
