I agree. I have MSR EVO Ascents and they are nice. When I was looking for a pair it was difficult to find them for less than MSRP.

If you're planning to traverse steep terrain, be sure and get snowshoes with a heel lift. It makes a huge difference. Before purchasing, I made the mistake of renting some without the heel lift for an ascent of Mt. St. Helens (didn't know any better at the time). My achilles tendons were not happy. I tried a model with a heel lift on the same trip and it was much better on the steeper slopes.
