25 Creedmoor Factory Ammo

Got the 25 back. Picked up some factory ELDM. Its shooting OK. Looking like 1.5 MOA over 5-10 shots. I don't have a chrono right now. I shot at 100 then measured drops at 200 and 300. The velocity appeared higher than it should have been. Heading to CO for the week in the morning. When I get back Ill borrow a friends Garmin and see what the velocity is.

Anyone chrono the factory ammo yet?

My 6.5 CM is eventually getting a smaller barrel -- and right now .257 seems to have the slipperiest projectile options.

My 6.5 CM is eventually getting a smaller barrel -- and right now .257 seems to have the slipperiest projectile options.

I have high hopes for this rifle. It's going to AK for caribou and then I have an anterless tag for pronghorn and elk so Im hoping for good results. I have enjoyed my 6CM but I want that to be my wife's and set it up for her. I also just felt like I would be more comfortable with just a little bit more than the 6CM. That's just a personal thing.

Sweet rifle! How many rounds through the barrel now? Are you shooting the same lot of ammo?

I really wouldn’t even worry about velocity until minimum 50 rounds personally. I usually start watching the chrono around then and you’ll see stabilization with the ammo lot after that (or maybe not until double that).

I only got about 25 shot this first time. My next trip I should get to about 50 and get a velocity. I bought 100 rounds, same lot. I figured Id shoot them then get a few cases of same lot ammo and check velocity again.
