Did you ever build this rifle? Just ordered a proof cf 24” for my 25 creed NRL Hunter build. I’m a little worried about meeting power factor.
Yes but haven't done load development yet.
If you are worried about power factor and don't want to go with a plus P throat, pm me. I have found a solution.

What’s the solution? I’m thinking about building one but worried about PF and barrel length. I’d like a dual purpose NRL/PRS type of rifle. I was considering doing a 6.5 and 6mm Creedmoor barrel, but I’d rather not swap them out so splitting the difference is ideal. Of course a 6.5 would fill both, but I already have one in a hunting rifle.

2815fps is all that's necessary to make power factor. Run a 26" light palma or bull sporter barrel. My first 3 25cm barrels were 26" and 2900+ with rl16 and 131 aces was pretty easy to achieve. Mid 2800 is doable with H4350 all day.

Black hole bullets 145 grain .257 projectiles will make power factor out of a short barrel.

That 2860fps node is where mine tuned the best as well. I'm thinking its pretty common as I know 2 other guys that are right there too.
I’m curious how much the barrel will speed up. I have less than 50 rounds through it to that point and haven’t shot it anymore.

I'm running that same velocity with 42.2gr N555 in a longer barrel.

Guess I have a fast barrel. There is another guy on here with a 24 inch proof getting the same speeds with 4350 and the 135’s and hitting the same node. I’m hoping my barrel speeds up and I can run that lower node at 41.2 and meet power factor of 2815.

Nah I wouldn't assume your barrel is fast. N555 is about 2gr slower than H4350 with creed case capacity.

Proofs typically take about 200 rds to fully stabilize speeds in my experience.

I think ill be happy with a 24 inch barrel and a short 5 inch can. I'll just use this rifle for nrl and open country hunting. I have a 19.5 inch 7prc with folding chassis I can use for the thick timber stuff.
Thats an interesting choice of rifle for that scenario

Gotcha. I bought 200 pieces of alpha that I need to finish fire forming. I’ll report back my progress.
