I have an opportunity at an extremely cheap Tikka T3 in 25-06 that’s in well above fair condition. Generally the Tikka shoot well and I’ve always been a fan and loved everyone I’ve had. How are their 25-06 though? I’d probably shoot it as for whitetail, muleys, coyotes, and antelopes. Then down the road rebarrel into a fast twist 25 cal and shoot the 131aces .

Yes or no?? Thoughts, opinions?

I’ve owned a weatherby mk5 ultra light for many years in a 25-06 and love it love it love it, 100 tsk Barnes was its favorite. But it does have its limitations, but it has always been my go to rifle until the past 2 years as I now have a full custom 280ai.
Also now have a semi custom tikka in a 25 PRC.
if you can get that 25-06 for a song,,, do it and don’t look back.....

It’s more of a whistled tune price lol I think I’m gonna go ahead. Put it into a T3x stock with the vertical grip and love it.

Best thing about buying used is you can usually sell it for what you paid

I‘d buy it. Worse that can happen is you have some fun shooting it then move it along.

Im actually hoping my wife really likes it so she can enjoy it before I build a quarter bore monster the 22” barrel should really help her!

Yes. The 25-06 is as good as it gets for a deer cartridge IMO. Having a new Bartlein installed on my old Remington. Modest recoil, shoots flat, hits hard. 115 Noslers and 117 Sierras are potent deer and antelope medicine.

How does the 25 PRC compare to the 25-06 in velocities?

Also, I have a Tikka M695 in 25-06. It is still as basic as can be, synthetic/blued. I bought it new 20 years ago. The last four years I have only used Barnes 100 grain TTSX, the TTSX is easily sub moa and it I totalled up the yards the 6 deer ran after being shot it would be less than 50.
