I understand they can be used in the factory class but my rifle is not allowed because it has an aftermarket barrel. Can I still use it? I dint care about points, I’m not that good. I just want to improve my shooting skills for hunting situations.

You can shoot in the skills class. Same targets etc. You just can get help if you would like and you don’t get to walk the prize table.

No prize table? Isn’t that the point? :)

Well I’m not sure? I guess I’m confused from these parts of your first post.

The more points you score the sooner you get to walk the prize table.

I just want to improve my shooting skills for hunting situations.

If you just want to improve your skills than shoot skills.

You can use a 243 in factory class if it’s a factory rifle. It’s not with an aftermarket barrel. So you would have to shoot open light which you can’t since you can’t make power factor with a 6mm caliber. You can shoot skills with your 243 or get a new gun to shoot in one of the other classes.

I've shot a couple of NRL Hunter matches, and think this is a shooting sport that I'd like to stick with. I really like the people and the vibe, and the gear is breathtaking. Having to find, range, and engage UKD steel is a fun challenge. I've shot in Skills division, and everyone's been super-cool and helpfu

I have a couple of PRS-style rifles and I'm finally putting together a custom Tikka in 6CM for hunting. It was a bit of a bummer to realize I won't be able to use it for NRL Hunter unless I do skills division.

I have a Tikka 6.5 CM all set up and ready to roll if you or anyone else wants to borrow it for a match that I'll be attending. I would just ask the person to reimburse for ammo cost.

Matches I'm planning to attend are:
La Grande, OR - March 14-16
Arbuckle, CA - April 4-6
Belt, MT - May 16-18
Madras, OR - May 30 - June 1
Cody, WY - June 13-15
Spokane, WA - Jun 20-22 (my son may be using the 6.5 for this one).

Rifle is in an XLR Element 4.0 with carbon accessories. Nightforce NX8 4-32 in UM Tikka rings. Ckyepod Double Pull bipod.

My Mausingfield rifle is 14.5# so I can do open heavy with it but thank you for the offer. The Tikka will just be an exclusively hunting rifle until I build a second one.
