Trying not to clog up the group buy thread. I need a .223 barrel for blinking factory ammo. My goal was to not have to reload and just put a bunch of rounds downrange in a bolt action. Any pro's to getting a
223ai vs a Wylde or standard .223?

Any negatives to the Ai if only shooting factory? Basically trying to determine if I need to add a new barrel to the group buy, or just jump in on the AI version.

My understanding is people generally see zero difference in shooting .223 in AI'd chambers vs factory ammo. Only difference is you're ejecting fire-formed AI brass.

If you did the Ackley, you could sell the brass to recoup some of the money from the factory fodder, should be worth more than plain 223 brass, unless you buy cheap shit to begin with.

Otherwise, do the Wylde, as the 223 Rem chamber has a short freebore, which might not play well with some ammo.

Run several ARs with Wylde chambers and my Remy bolt gun in .223 with thousands of various plinking rounds through it; zero issues. 🇺🇸

I'll roll with the AI, since that seems like the one everyone wants. I've never thought about selling my brass, but why not. 😆 If anyone wants a 16" that would be my most desired over the 18".

Thank you gentleman for your opinions and knowledge.

I've chimed in on 16", but it looks like we'll probably get 18s. Oh, and dibs on your brass!
