.223 for bear, mountain goat, deer, elk, and moose.

Time for someone to cross section machine a 77 and 88gr tmk
Yes, I'd also be interested in seeing a side-by-side of some 77s and 88s shot in gel at various velocities.

In my sample of one, I'd bet that 88 would have significantly more penetration potential than most of the 77s I've shot into animals.

OTOH, although I didn't have time to open the bear, I didn't see as much external bloodshot trauma that I've seen quite a few times with the 77s. That probably makes sense as for whatever reason, this bullet didn't come apart nearly as much as the 77s so far have.

I suppose by next year we'll have a pretty good idea of how they compare.

How was your Shaw? My 6 arc must have been a lemon. It was pretty bad. 3-4 moa.
The Shaw has been pretty good. Usually somewhere under 2 moa depending on bullet, but it seems fairly picky. It doesn't seem any better than the BCA though and works brass harder with the Wylde chamber. The 5.56 chamber of the BCA is tighter, so less brass stretching and less trimming after sizing.
