.223 for bear, mountain goat, deer, elk, and moose.

Well so far ive done 2 of the mamba 10 round mags and they both feed well with 75 eldms, I dont know if you could go alot more without running into follower issues but so far these feed. Will put them to the test beating the dog crap out of them coyote hunting soon.
Shot my first match with the mambas this weekend... plagued with major feeding issues the whole thing 🤣 seems like the follower binds up when your running it hard causing failures... back to the drawing board

That sucks.

I thought the mamba mags were the answer for 10 rounders.

Hope you get it sorted out.

That’s interesting, we all used mamba mags at S2H and were shooting thousands of rounds of 223 collectively with the mamba mags and I don’t recall a single issue in those 5 days. I have two of my own that have been flawless.

Makes me wonder if you got a bad one? Is it a factory Tikka?

I think its me modifying them that caused it I need to keep messing with them but it seemed when I ran them hard the follower got cockeyed. I think I can put a spacer on the follower so it can't happen. I ran 200 rounds through them prior to the match and didnt have a single missed so I had high hopes as well

Have you tried any of the ndr mags. They have been great in my 223, but Ive just used them for hunting and at my range.

I haven't i have a 3 rounder that I have ran a ton of rounds through without fail for range and hunting, just needed something more for this and thought I had it dialed 🤣

That’s why I gave up running the 75/80 ELDs unless I run them in an AICS mag or an NDR mag. The Mamba mags are great with stuff under 2.3. The NDR are the ones I like best.

The NDR’s are decent to good. They work well generally, however in sandy, wet conditions, the follower locks up frequently. The only mags that haven’t done so side by side are Mambas.

I assume that’s because the Mambas are wider and debris is less likely to cause an issue or is it something else?

Found some Norma Golden Target 69 gr for my Blaser 223 (1:10 twist) for 50¢/rd…shoots well at 100 yds.

Norma website says .393 G1 which is better than what Sierra says the 77 SMK is at .372 G1 (I’m a bit dubious).

Shot a match today with it.

.327 G1BC got me consistent hits out to 780 yards at 2500 ft DA, 2560 fps.

I think that’s some pretty good info.

I get caught up in the BC race more than most.
.4’s are good, .5’a are better. Looks like .3’a will work just fine.

Glad they worked for you.

How was the wind?

Nightmare fuel. Held 4.3 mils left on a target at 817 and still missed off the right edge. Next target, same stage, hit at 812 holding dead center.

Shooting a long way from weird positions is extremely difficult.

Yikes.

Probably not a 223 bullet on the planet that’s gonna help much with that.
