Only blood trails I've had on bears are from archery kills. Never any on a rifle shot bear.

More details. What did the arrow hit?The only blood trail from a bear I’ve ever seen was from the bear my buddy shot this September, with a bow. We tracked it for 1200yds before finding it.
Yes. I just started doing that this year and feel like an idiot for not doing it earlier. I'll strap them to the pack and set to a good height for seated shots and carry them like that for the walk in and out and then unstrap when I get where I'm going. Actually shot one doe like that a couple weeks ago at about 160 yards. Throw the pack down and it's ready to go, no fussing with straps and all thatThat's a smart way to carry trekking poles on the Shapecharge. Are they tall enough to shoot off of like that with the crossed straps?

Agree completely. I loathe the plastic stocks just like the plastic Glock sights. I do wonder about the quality of the wood stocks since I’ve never been able to put my hands on one.Man tikka is missing a huge market by not just selling the actions naked... tikka stocks are like Glock sights. Cheap plastic crap that gets you buy. But serious dudes plan on throwing it away as soon as the gun gets home!

Sure look better too.The one I have is very nice. It’s currently on my .223. I think it was $160 off the classifieds here:

Not without hacking up the wood. The grip module itself on the plastic stocks is removeable/replaceable.Can you put the orange vertical grip piece you can buy from tikka on their wood stock?
Is that bottom stock from Stocky's?I really like the wood stock that comes on the hunter. I bought it over plastic just so I could resell it easier when I put the rifle in a chassis. I like it enough I’m going to keep it.
Still will get a vertical stock for summer range fun which the 223 is for me but I prefer hunting with the sporter style so will keep the wood stock. It weighs 32 oz just FYI.

Is that bottom stock from Stocky's?
Yes it is. It’s the heavy composite version, which is great for taming the 243’s recoil shooting from the bench. Is that bottom stock from Stocky's?
I thought so as I have one that is just like it. Yep no lightweight but aluminum furniture inside and it make shooting from the bench a pleasure. I had it set up with a 308 barrel for a while but pit a 7-08 mountain rifle contour barrel on it and it's in a SPS synthetic for carrying around. Looking for a better stock but the SPS stock works okay and is light.Yes it is. Factory barrel contour and limited paint options on the sale but still a good price. Mine is a Strata color scheme.Yes, I asked him about it via PM.
