I'd love to see a photo of the rifle & chrono reading, because you're beating everyone else by about 400fps.....🤔

Huh. Not sure how to respond.

If I’m lying I can just fake chrono pics, right? I can find anything I want with just a few clicks. No way to really verify if I’m telling the truth, short of flying out from Tennessee for a look.

I ain’t fibbing but there’s nothing wrong with healthy skepticism.

If I cared enough about providing proof I’d get an assistant and video the event. Tougher to fake that.

But, I don’t care enough.

And the assistant would be a hot redhead with fake hoots in a bikini.

Thanks. I've been searching "In stock" items, so guess that's why I missed it.
I was looking for a CTR in .308/6.5 and the only ones I could easily find were the .223s, now its the other way around. I'm sure they'll be back in stock within a couple months.

That wouldn't help you.

Red heads aren't to be trusted, especially the ones with fake parts that like to show them off.

Hola Formid…
I am already thinking in my next 22-250 rebarrel… Would you twist it 1:8” or tighter?
I am extremely happy with 1:8” 22-250 shooting 77 TMK both accuracy and performance wise but I admit to be interested in 88gr ELDMs which may shoot in a 1:8” but that would be better served in a 1:7” or at least a 1:7.5”, I think.
Also, one day all this hoarding of supplies shall be over and with your help we might see a 90gr TMK!
So, would you go 1:8” or would you go tighter?
Like I said, cartridge is a 22-250.
Thank You!
Alvaro

1-8” will generally work for the 88’s in a 22-250, but a 1-7” or 1-7.5” is better.

And we need a 90+ grain TMK.

Couple data points on the 69 gr TMK.20221112_073335.jpg

Exit

Shot was 15 yds, muzzle velocity of 2885. Chest cavity was wrecked, diaphragm was breached. She went 80 yds or so, but most of that was sort of crashing down a steep slope.

And this guy

This shot was 70 yds or so. Deer was slightly quartering away. It looked like a couple fragments may have exited at the point of the shoulder, but no real exit hole. Chest cavity was wrecked. He went 70-80 yds.

Processed my elk quarters today, here’s the damage from the unfortunate hindquarter shot I mentioned previously. I had already cleaned up a lot of the bloodshot/vaporized tissue by the time I remembered to grab a photo. What remained was a roughly 4” diameter circle of meat that was basically turned to mush…

Edit - Autocorrect error

Is 20" the optimal barrel length for the RS special? I have a standard t3x lite that I was thinking of chopping down some to make it handier for teaching my kids to shoot. Any benefit to going down to 18.5"? (Legal minimum for a barrel chop here in Canada)

I have multiple 223AI’s to be honest, built on Sako/Remington/Kimber rifles.

With the latest one (Remington) and 88’s I’m at 2740 fps. I could probably get more speed but I basically did load “development” by finding pressure and then backing off some and making a handful to confirm. First five shots made one ragged hole so called it good enough and shot the rest at 800 to get an idea of velocity for the dope.

With the Kimber and moly’d 75’s I’m at 2980 fps. Brass life isn’t spectacular though, maybe 5 reloads on average with Lapua brass and no annealing. The 1:9 twist is on the bubble for stability though I think.
What are the barrel lengths on those rifles?

Remingtons and Kimber are 22”, Sako is 24”. (The Sako is 1:14 so it doesn’t get shot at all and needs to go down the road, but it spits moly’d 40’s at 3800+ and 45 gr TSX at 3750.
That makes me hopeful. I’m cutting my 223 down to 16” and I’m going to AI it and shoot the 77 TMK. I want to be around 2600fps at the muzzle so I’m above 1800fps around 500 yards where I hunt. I think I should be able to get that.

Not sure how much extra the AI will buy you, but I have a Ruger American Ranch at 16.5" and it gets a bit under 2600fps with the UM factory 77tmk (@ AR mag length, loaded with XBR 8208) ...I think you'll break 2600.

For comparison, my (daughter's) T3x Lite Compact with the 20" barrel shoots the same load @ 2695fps.
