If you reload, can you pull a bullet on one of those Stand 1s and get an idea of what powder they're using and amount? I'm curious about what they're using.

I know you can't know exactly what powder it is, but if you have a collection of the likely powders, you could do some comparing and maybe get an idea. 2,830 is obviously really fast out of a 16" barrel.

Thanks for this. That Stand 1 load seems screaming fast. I have plenty of BH for the moment, but I may have to consider trying them in the future.

Anyone notice if the tikka factory barrels in 223 are naturally slow with factory ammo like some of their other chamberings? It seems common for their 6.5cm rifles to run 100fps or so slow.

I’m cutting a 223 down to 18 or 20, but wondering if I should account for that.

My post #61 is for a factory barrel cut to 16.5”

I picked up the 20", but the twist is 1:12. I'll likely do a re barrel to 1:7 or 1:8. Pretty frustrating to have to pay that much for a Tikka 223 lefty. Worst part: I'm right handed but cross eye dominant. I've tried shooting right hand rifles, but the lefties are just more comfortable.
I'm the same but just forced myself to shoot right for a year once I got into shooting more often and now I feel just as comfortable shooting right handed

I've got a JK155 coming

Tikka T3X with the fluted bbl.

Need the threading done, wondering about length.

It appears lopping off a couple inches or so has little effect on MV.

What are the advantages of shortening the bbl other than ease of
use in brush/timber?
