Can you quote where this was stated? It seems that honestly, you’re so obsessed with hating on something so much with which you have zero experience with, that it’s making you read things that haven’t even been typed.
Where was it stated I don’t have experience with small calibers? Honestly, it seems you’re so obsessed with me that you are making things up that haven’t been typed.

Heres what people fail to understand about small guns. When you do miss (it will happen). Its harder to spot. If you do hit animal and it doesn’t drop it. Say western oregon you might not find it. Wind causes most misses. Bigger guns fight wind better so in big windy canyons what gun is actually more accurate. I mean i build custom rifles, & shoot 500+ a week id love you to show me how 6 creedmoor can shoot in the wind across a canyon compared to 300 nmi. Same day same spot same conditions. In real world conditions your chances go up wounding a animal with small guns.

Yes I do. It’s 20 seconds longer. He slide into that tree where the original video end, and then you see his horns bob up one more time.

Shoot me a PM with your cell number and I’ll send it to you if you have an I phone.

I just trimmed it down for YouTube because there was basically nothing that happened after that buck slid into the tree.
Thats ok, I was just curious because he doesn't look dead in that video

Lmao 🤣. This freaking cracked me up.
I've got to ask, what's funny about it? Why wouldn't we as sportsman shoot the most capable cartridge to take life in the most humane way? 50bmg is obviously the most capable, why wouldn't it be the answer?

After all on its face, bigger is always better. I can't think of a more capable cartridge for taking medium to large game animals. They deserve our respect.

Sorry for assuming that. What is your experience with big game killing and .224 projectiles?

I regularly travel to Northern California for work and shooting with old buddies.

I’ll pm you my contact info and would love to meet up and shoot. To make it fun, I’ll only bring a 6mm and .224. You can show me how much better you and your .30 cals are than me. I love to learn. I have access and open invitations to incredibly windy cross canyon and steep draws with wind shifts in the Altamont hills. We can run and gun some coyotes while we’re out there as well!

If I can even hit them with my little bullets. We shall see 😜

If you have hunted enough and KILLED enough you will learn bigger guns do it better. If you shoot a smaller gun better two things should happen either practice more or shorten your distance. As a custom rifle builder and a guy thats been on hundreds of elk kills let alone other animals. Practice on the tool you intend to use is best and build that tool to work best. I dislike short barrels and suppressors. You are giving up to much in performance. I personally witnessed a Rosevelt get killed this weekend. 480 yards 22 creedmoor 20” barrel suppressed that bull took 2 rounds 88eldm one high shoulder one in lung. Ive seen many elk hit this bull reacted as he was untouched. This was actually a test for me personally with all this talk on small calibers being elk guns. Anyway we let the 30 cal finish the job. I wish it wasn't a torrential downpour or it would have been on video. Practice with the correct tool. Yes bullet selection is important. But there is difference in energy and what it does to animals. People say it doesn’t matter thats just bs. Doing trauma to animals vitals and taking the wind out of its sail at same time stones them. If the argument is simple take away shooter’s ability bigger guns kill more ethically.
I've killed a pile of elk with my .30-06 and my 300wm and the cow I killed this year with the 223 died just as dead as with my other rifles. She actually died quickly and the heart/lung damage was impressive. I killed a nice 6 last year with my 300wm shooting 215 bergers and it acted like nothing happened. That bull took 4 bullets. I've also killed elk with the same combo and they were drt. Same goes with the 06. Killed many elk with it and some were drt and others took a few to die. If larger caliber, ft/lbs and bullet weight delivered drt every time then I'd stick with my 300wm but that's not the case. I've only killed three animals with the 223/73 eldm so it's a small sample size but the internal damage on all three has been impressive and all three died within seconds. Bulkets and shot placement matter no matter the caliber.

Bigger guns fight wind more? Define bigger.
What are the factor(s) that effect the wind drift of a bullet? Aside from the wind velocity.

I never said bullet selection and shot placement doesn’t matter. Both true im firm believer bigger is easier to accomplish both and gain energy. Bergers suck killing learned that long time ago.

The last few pages in here are basically saying caliber > skill. Smaller calibers seemingly can't kill anything except some golden calves.

Do you make it to CO? If so, you have access to do the same here. Send a PM.

Appology accepted. 220 swift, but not heavy for caliber.. then 243, 257, 264 in various calibers.

You're invited too if @mxgsfmdpx makes it out here. Ranges go as far as you can see.

I've killed a lot of animals with a Berger. I'd say they kill fantastically. That big bull was dead on his feet but I hit him a few more times.

High bc higher velocity more weight all 3 fight wind. If you personally cant shoot bigger gun accurate thats fine shoot smaller but know your distance and capability

What is "bigger gun" in your opinion? 300 win mag? 300prc? 300 norma? 338 win mag? 338 lapua? 408 cheytac? 50bmg?

What meets the threshold of "bigger gun" in your professional opinion?

If a 250gr 30 cal creates .5in more wound cavity diameter, if even temporary, then a 22, and both impact at say 2700fps, and they both are hitting the same spot near but not into the CNS, I would expect the 30 cal to produce more DRT results simply because it'll be more likely that it does in fact disrupt the CNS because of that extra .5in.
In gel a .30 mag will make a ~8" diameter cavity
88eldm will be ~4.5-5" diameter cavity
