223 69g TMK: best powder

Varget for me and the 77s. 24.2grs to be exact and on the crunchy side. Think I landed on 60thou off the lands which is damn near mag length. I'd like to try a longer mag and imagine i could get it shooting a bit better but it's fine for what it is.

Poor groups for me, was my 1st choice
What was the powder weight you used in your load? I loaded up 10 rounds with 42.5gr of Varget at 2.27” COAL and it was terrible. Wanted to give LVR a try since I have a bunch of it on hand

My attempt was in .223 rem, 25gr or so if I remember correctly. Assuming you are talking about a different cartridge w the 42.5gr of varget.

The 77s out of my son's tikka seemed very finicky with jump although some people here don't believe in that. I shot 50rds on this target and landed on the 24.2 load at 80 off.

The target is a mess. I missed a load and had to come back to it at the end.

24.2 was the highest I tried although n this rifle although I shoot 24.6 in my 223 trainer. This has gone 3 for 3 on deer and is plenty accurate for my son.

Anyone tried LVR with the 69gr TMK’s?
I've used LVR for several years in my 223's with 65 sie 68 Hdy 69's & 75gr Hornady BTHP.
One of the better ball powders out there in the slow burn range for 223. I also like Shooters World Match.
Both powders come on at around the same weight 25gr's. The TC bolt action with xl long loads I get 2 more grains before I hit max.
