Looking at a new 22WMR. Currently have a ruger American and it is a 2” at best at 100yrds. Considering the CZ 457 American suppressor ready or Savage 93 FV SR.

Must have a threaded barrel. Prefer 16” and a more vertical grip. Magazines should be available and less than 10% of the price of the rifle. Goal is 1.5” at 100 yards 10 shots. Price range $600 or under.

Recommendations appreciated IF you have actually used the model recommended.

What ammo in the Ruger? Is it an American?
Mostly CCI 40 gr. I’ve tried 6 or 7 different types. Even bedded the rifle. Not much improvement. It is the American model

Also now considering the Walther Hammerli due to easy of barrel switching ability

Just curious. My dad has one and it hammers with 30 grain V Max.
Sounds like you’ve exhausted all your options with that one.
I can’t speak to the specific rifles mentioned, but we have 3 457 22 LR’s and they’ve been flawless. I would think that the 22 Mag would be equally as good. Good luck.

I had a 93 FV. It met all of your criteria…sort of. Magazines are readily available and you’ll need some of that $600 budget to buy 8-10 of them. Once the tabs get a little use they get out of spec and loaded rounds randomly spit out when you open the bolt. I finally couldn’t take it anymore and sold to a buddy. It’s still dead nuts accurate and he still cusses and bends on the magazines. I bought a CZ in the Lux configuration and am much happier. It is a 1-1.5” rifle at 100 with CCI maxi mag, sweet trigger and smooth action.

I have an older savage 93 17hmr. It shots fantastic. And a CZ 527 22 hornet that’s fantastic as well. The CZ in my opinion is a better made product. They are a little more money, but better quality.
