22 v 6 CM short barrel

I want to build myself a dedicated thermal coyote rifle. I will likely throw a day optic on for ground hogs in summer time. I may elect to take a smaller deer or antelope in future but I have rifles better fit for that. I want short barrel 18-20" max. What is the best cal 22 v 6 cm. I was mostly ready to go with 22 but the short barrel had me second guessing a bit.

It’s dealers choice at 18-20” barrel length.

My 14” 22 creed is good to 575 yards at 1200 ft elevation. My 16” is good to 625 at 2750 fps (not 3750).

Unless you want max velocity with barrel length, I would go 16” in either 22 or 6mm. My preference is 22 shooting the 80 ELDm.

For more point and shoot, a 20” 22 creed is going to be most forgiving at unsure distances at night.
